Mountain Report: January 16, 2016

Sunny skies today to wrap up the holiday weekend. Expect temps in the mid 40’s with northeast winds in the 10 to 20 mph range. We will be open for scenic rides to the Top of the Notch restaurant, snow tubing and skiing and snowboarding on all lifts.

Chair #1 – Expert Skiers & Riders only. Coverage is very thin at the bottom. Expect frozen crud in the morning. In the afternoon the snow should soften up a bit. Be advised: the conditions on the Face aren’t very fun and only experts should go down there if they prefer to not ride the chair down.

Chair #2 – Groomed packed powder conditions with good coverage. Now is a great time to learn to ski or ride at Mt Baldy.

Chair #3 – Toilet Bowl to Bonanza, Sky Line will be groomed as well as the Easy Road to Mullins Mile. The rest of Thunder will be left all natural. Be on the look out for obstacles, there are lots of them. Anything not groomed on Thunder is recommended for Advanced & Expert skiers & riders.

Chair #4 – Expect the snow to soften up by noon. Turkey Shoot and Roller Coaster have been groomed but there are still obstacles. True Baldy Style.

See you on the mountain.
