Mountain Report: December 26, 2016

We are operating for scenic rides to the Top of the Notch restaurant on Chair #1, snow tubing, and skiing and snowboarding on Chair #2 & #3.

We want you to enjoy your time in Mt Baldy; plan accordingly and be prepared for crowds because there will be big ones through the holiday season. Tubing sessions should begin selling out by the 2nd session. Expect long lines to get up the mountain and more lines once you are up top. In addition the line to come down at the end of the day can take till 8pm at night. COME EARLY!

If you've purchased a GroupOn, please double check the black out dates in the fine print.

Skiing & Snowboarding Report: Expect groomed packed powder in the Learning Center and Chair #2. If you are planning to learn to ski or snowboard this holiday break, now is a great time to do it.

Chair #3 (Thunder Mountain) - Advanced & Expert skiers and riders only. Toilet Bowl to Bonanza will be groomed however be on the look out for small sapling trees on the lower half on Bonanza. That will be your easiest route down. Otherwise the rest of Thunder Mountain is extremely thin. Be on the look out for all kinds of obstacles and thin spots. We cannot stress enough that it is difficult to find lines uncluttered by small trees and other obstacles. However, the 12" of snow we received filled in solid and has a really fun graupel texture although tough to navigate.

See you on the mountain!
